Journal-Inquirer Reports on Covenant with Manchester Taxpayers

Written by admin on September 19th, 2007

The Journal-Inquirer’s Kim Phillips covered the press conference from this morning in today’s JI.  The highlights:

“Government must live within its means like any family would,” incumbent Louis A. Spadaccini said today during an unveiling of the second plank of the party’s “Covenant with Manchester.”

“That’s the beauty of this,” Peak said. “This is a way of organizing our resources without spending any money.”

During the last two fiscal years, Republicans have proposed spending reductions over the town manager’s recommended budget, which would have resulted in lower property taxes during revaluation years, he said.

”The budget issues don’t have to be big-dollar things,” newcomer Mark Tweedie said. “If you watch your pennies the dollars will take care of themselves.”
