The Journal-Inquirer has an article today about the third plank of the Covenant with Manchester covenantlogojpeg.jpgTaxpayers, Quality of Life.  You can read it here.

The highlights:

When you have blighted properties in a particular area concentrated in neighborhoods, it hurts the image of that neighborhood,” he said, explaining that boosting an area’s pride would result in a respect for that area and less crime. - Lou Spadaccini

“Incumbent Matthew B. Peak also said that should Republicans win the majority, they will make stronger efforts to fight graffiti, whether it’s via a voluntary program or one that offers staff assistance.”

“We know statistically it affects the kids in the school environment,” she said of providing them a permanent home. When she was young, she said, “I knew every day when I came home - this was our home.”  - Cheri Pelletier
