The Art of the Door to Door
Written by admin on October 18th, 2007Jim Farrell from the Hartford Courant had an excellent article recently about the art of doing doors, featuring our own candidates Cheri Pelletier and Lou Spadaccini.
“But for every one of those, there are 10 who say they are glad you stopped by,” said Louis Spadaccini, a Republican seeking re-election to Manchester’s board of directors. “And that’s what keeps you going.”
Spadaccini is running for the sixth time and estimates that he knocks on 3,000 to 5,000 doors each campaign.
“And I’m on pace to do more this year than any other year because the weather’s been so good,” he said.”
Spadaccini said he dresses casually but never wears sneakers, shorts or jeans. He has never been bitten by a dog. When people offer him a bottle of water or soda, he usually politely declines. Most conversations are short, he said, but sometimes people will gab for 30 minutes.”
