David Blackwell Announces Senate Bid

Written by admin on April 30th, 2008

Manchester Attorney David Blackwell announced on Monday night that he will be running against Sen. Mary Ann Handley for the Fourth District State Senate seat in November.  The Hartford Courant covered the story:

Blackwell said his goals for the state are cutting taxes and spending and reducing the state’s debt.”We have twin drags on the state economy: Young workers and businesses are leaving Connecticut,” he said. “But even as we’re talking about the economy, we have to help those who are most vulnerable, especially the homeless.”

Blackwell is chairman of the Manchester Initiative for Supportive Housing, a group that finds housing for the homeless.

Pictures from the event are posted here.
