MANCHESTER - The Republican candidates for the Manchester Board of Directors, as well as Board of Education candidate Mary Jane Pazda, began their television advertising campaigns today as they pursue seats in local government.

Director Lou Spadaccini commented on the commercials, noting, “This is the first time to my knowledge that any local campaign has done this.  We are committed to our Covenant with Manchester Taxpayers and spreading this message across the town of Manchester.  These ads are a big step in the right direction.”

The stepped up advertising comes in the wake of this weekend’s placement of 4×8 signs advertising the Republican candidates for both Boards in 15 locations throughout Manchester.

“This isn’t your grandfather’s Republican Party,” said Republican Town Committee Chairman Wally Irish. 

 ”We are working hard to win votes in Manchester - knocking on doors, phone calls, mail, lawn signs, and now the television ads,” said candidate Mark Tweedie.  “We are running to win.”

Manchester Police Local 1495 announced their endorsement of Republican Directors Matt Peak, Lou Spadaccini, and Cheri Pelletier today.

 ”We are pleased to receive the support of Manchester Police Local 1495,” said Lou Spadaccini.  “This clearly shows that our message of accountability, fiscal responsibility, and quality of life has broad appeal to people of all walks of life.”

 Director Cheri Pelletier continued, “We are committed to increasing the number of police officers on the street and doing everything we can to support our police officers.  Their endorsement is a welcome sign of support.”

Director Matt Peak concluded, “We are appreciative of this support.  It shows that the confidence in our ability to lead is growing.”

MANCHESTER - The Republican candidates for the Board of Directors, Matt Peak, Lou Spadaccini, Cheri Pelletier, Jeff Beckman, Rob Desilet, and Mark Tweedie put on a strong showing last night at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Debate.  “It was a clear victory for the Republican team,” said Republican Town Committee Chair Wally Irish.

The debate ranged over a host of topics, including public safety, taxes and spending, the textbook loan program, downtown development, and open space preservation.  Time and time again, the Republican team emphasized the values of accountability, fiscal responsibility, and quality of life. 

The debate, which lasted just over two hours, was held at the Lincoln Center hearing room on Tuesday evening.
