The noted Connecticut political blog, Connecticut Local Politics, noted that Manchester resident David Blackwell is running for the State Senate this fall.  According to the site, Blackwell has already filed his paperwork with the State Elections Enforcement Commission.

Manchester Republican David Blackwell is considering a bid for the 4th District Senate seat. The Journal-Inquirer’s Kim Phillips had the story today. 
Blackwell confirmed his plan to challenge six-term Sen. Mary Ann Handley in the 4th District this fall, saying his campaign treasurer will submit candidacy papers to the state within the next several days.
